Self Sacrifice

It's not uncommon to hear our fellow Filipinos to complain that they really would want to become a doctor instead of a nurse. Only if doctors in our country are paid more than the salaries of nurses abroad. It's not uncommon for teachers to be working as domestic helpers even if they love teaching; they are forced to abandon their passion for teaching because working abroad as a domestic helper earns more. Not that something is wrong with these noble occupations because these are commendable traits of self-sacrifice and care- but the long range effect of this creates division in our lives and our emotions.

I intentionally created the OFW central to  deliver online information that educate readers to view and understand the real life of a Filipino worker (OFW) abroad. In this regard,  I want to invite all OFW’s to work together; encourage one another, empower one another, and support one another, to  have a circle of influence that makes a difference to our countrymen.

I welcome all OFW's to submit any of the following:
  • 1 real life success story
  • 1 real life love story
  • 5 Joke Stories

All collected stories will be posted online, and best stories will be awarded by OFW Central.

Thank you very much!
